大学英语第一教学部致力于全校拔尖人才的培养，承担非英语专业本科生基发展级学生的大学英语教学工作，以及未来技术学院、航天与自动化大类和计算机与电信大类等学院定制的大学英语教学。大学英语第一教学部现有教师25人，其中教学带头人1人，教授3人，副教授8人，讲师14人。
近年来，大学英语第一教学部完成国家、省、校级各类项目20余项；国内外各类学术刊物上公开发表论文百余篇；编写各类教材20余部；获得各类教学奖项10余项，包括外研社“教学之星”大赛国家级一等奖；拥有国家级线上精品课程和教育部一流本科课程1项，省级线上一流课程1项；组织各类英语竞赛多次。
The First College English Teaching Department is devoted to cultivate more top-notch talents and takes charge of the college English courses for Non-English major undergraduates (advanced), students in the School of Future Technology and freshmen in School of Astronautics, School of Computer Science and Technology, etc. This department has a faculty of 25 teaching members, including three professors, eight associate professors and fourteen lecturers. Among them, one is with the title of Academic Leader in Teaching.
In recent years, the First College English Teaching Department has completed more than 20 teaching and research projects, most of which are at the Ministerial or provincial level. Over 100 papers have been published in various journals at home and abroad including CSSCI journals. More than 20 textbooks have been compiled and some were published by nationally-renowned press. Dozens of teachers in the Department have won teaching honors including national and provincial awards. One course has been recognized as national excellent online course and first-class undergraduate course of the Ministry of Education. There is another provincial first-class online course. The Department has also held different English contests for many times.
